It’s no surprise: Robert half’s recent CFO survey reports that almost 4 in 10 of us agree that retaining valuable talent is critical to our business, and is our biggest staffing concern right now. Should you focus on retention or recruitment? Here’s what the Half survey said:
As executives and team leaders, our biggest concern is how to retain key talent. Their recommendations?
Keep your office door open! Build strong relationships and allow employees to feel comfortable with you.
Develop your team: Everyone wants to know they have a chance to advance, so promote from within first.
Be competitive: Likewise, we all want to be paid fairly for what we do. There’s no time like the present for reality check on salaries & benefits.
Recognize and reward appropriately: Try to thank your team everyday for what they do–it’s free, easy and will pay you back tenfold.
