Shannon Alter

Solid Business Expertise

Shannon has been a business leader in the real estate management arena for over 25 years. Her well-rounded experience in the office, retail and hotel sectors resulted in executive leadership positions for a global hotel chain, a regional developer, an anchor supermarket tenant and a national real estate syndicator, where she oversaw property management operations for a 30 million square foot portfolio. Her expertise in management, operations and leasing and helps management companies and owners provide solutions.

Solid Foundation

Shannon is a CPM® and a National Instructor for IREM (Institution of Real Estate Management), an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors®. She consults, speaks and trains for clients in the United States and overseas, including Russia, Ukraine, China and South Korea.

Shannon has served as IREM’s Orange County Chapter President and as Regional Vice President. She also serves on California State University, Fullerton’s Real Estate Advisory Board and will be leading seminars for the University’s MBA Leadership Academy. She is a Board member for Laurel House, a home for troubled teens.
She holds a BA from the University of Southern California.

Solid Professionalism

Shannon is a professional member of the National Speakers Association has been a frequent speaker for numerous industry conferences, including IREM, ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association), IFMA (International Facility Managers Association) and NFM&T (National Facilities Management & Technology).

Her column, “Marketing Solutions” appears regularly in the Journal of Property Management and she contributes regularly to other industry publications. She is the author of two books, “Say it With Success, Foolproof Ways to Improve Your Presentation Skills” and, “Strategies for Working with Small Tenants”.
